Corporate Team Building
|
Orienteering is the sport of traveling through terrain from point to point using a detailed map. Engaging and exhilarating, it creates a memorable shared adventure that's naturally team-building. We offer two basic team-oriented formats: | ![]() |

Team OrienteeringThis classic format takes place in an urban or suburban park and offers contact with nature together with teamwork and precision map reading. About thirty control markers are placed throughout the park, their locations marked on a detailed topographic map. Teams work together to visit as many controls as they can in 20-45 minutes. A second round is offered so that teams can apply what they've learned in the first round. The event begins with expert instruction and ends with awards and an optional fast-paced extra challenge. |
Orienteering Poker adds an extra layer of strategy to team orienteering. Teams are each dealt a poker hand, then try to improve their hands by exchanging cards for cards we've attached to the control markers.
Street ScrambleOur newest corporate format is based on our popular series offered to the general public since 2004. Thirty checkpoint locations are circled on a topographic street map, each with a point value. Traveling on foot, your team visits as many as you can in 90 minutes. See nooks and crannies of the neighborhood you never noticed before. Work together to design your strategy, then refine it on the fly as you make your way from point to point. The USGS topographic map, which shows only a few street names, gives information on steepness while challenging you to keep track of your location. This is Street Scramble! Locations are historic, scenic, or just plain quirky, and range from famous to obscure. Variations include allowing public transit and allowing teams to subdivide into cooperating pods. Choose the time limit appropriate for your event – anything from 20 minutes to 6 hours works great. |
