Ruaraidh Stenson

Ruaraidh Stenson

Ruaraidh has always been fixated by the outdoors whether its grinding up a mountain on 2 wheels, foot or snowshoes. Fiercely competitive, his easy going attitude hides a desire to continually improve and strive for the top. His sporting achievements are wide-ranged and impressive with top results in AR, MTB, trail running and even golf (he is Scottish after all!).
Most likely place to be heard: At transitions barking instructions to team-mates to get moving.
Least likely place to be heard: Grinding up a big mountain.
Most common phrase: "@%^&, I can't believe I been stung again" (bees love him and preferentially use him as shark bait when the team is racing).
1st Experience of Multisport: biking 20 miles then hiking 20 miles with 5,000ft elevation gain - aged 7 when his mum pulled him round the mountains of Scotland at every opportunity.
Goal: Prove that even with the demands of being a Dad it is still possible to race at the highest level by biking to work and cross-training during lunchtime.
