Murray Maitland

Murray Maitland

In a professional capacity, Murray Maitland is a professor in Physical Therapy at the University of Washington where he teaches physical examination and is developing artificial hands. From an athletic perspective, endurance sports have been a lifelong magnet for him, including his first Vancouver marathon at a young age in 1977. He thrives on endurance challenges like his win at the Climb for Wilderness race where he ran 802 stairs 22 times. Unlike many adventure racers, Murray loves paddling and has raced in kayaks for up to 95 miles. He currently trains for outrigger canoeing. New to the Mergeo team and Seattle, he is going to add to the solid physical teamwork in all of the disciplines.
